When do we want to schedule the run. or is it
scheduled? I want to attend the GW4 event, so I suggest we do it two
days before. Input?
Ed ================================================================= Hi from Germany !
Some input from me for the date of the run . . .
We made a very good experience on our last world record run at
Jacksonville around GW3 when we did the run the weekend before the
event. This would be the 20th of may (Saturday).
Starting Saturday at 9 o’clock in the morning and ending on Sunday
morning makes it easier for drivers / supporters to have time - and
everybody wants to visit GW4. Having that time and beeing away 7 days
from the main GW4 event makes it possible to help with the record run
AND have time for the event preparations in the last days before GW4.
And it is essential for success to regard the time factor in the
planning of the cache route. In Florida, we hit the beaches in the
morning because there was plenty of space to park the car near the
beach access. And we hit the centre of town late in the night when the
city was empty etc. Using a weekend makes the rush hour traffic
avoidable etc.
So my point is:
- Avoid weekdays and let's go for the run on a weekend.
- Stay away from the date of the event for some days.
But of course this is a thing of the drivers / supportes (!!) in the first place, not of the participants of the runs.
And - as a record is a record - no need for all
teams to do this on the same day at all, I guess. As long as it is
before the GW4 event, any day of the week should be okay.
Looking forward to meet you in Dallas ! _________________ Let's go for it ! My Phone No. for Skype In: just dial (817) 522 3909 or Skype Me: geoPirat
