TXGA Board Meeting 1/5/21

A meeting of the Executive Directors of the Texas Geocaching Association was held on January 5th, 2021, at 7pm by teleconference call.

MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:06pm.

The minutes from the Executive Directors meeting dated December 1st, 2020, are approved.

Finances

Michael Cash presented the December financial statement:

TXGA’s opening balance was $11,353.16.

There were debits in the amount of $24.50 (webhosting), $675.00 (Challenge coins), $225.00 (trackable codes).

TXGA’s closing balance was $10,428.66.

Challenge 2021

Challenge coins are finalized.

Events planned to start on Tuesday prior to Challenge and will run to Sunday.

TCC finishers event has been scheduled.

Challenge is currently still on schedule, but the volatility of the pandemic may require changes when nearing the event.

CDC covid-19 protocols will be in place (following State and County guidelines).

Challenge activity caches will also be different per recommended guidelines.

The board discussed personal sanitation options (availability of hand sanitizer, etc…).

Roundup 2021

The event is still in Mineral Wells, TX, hosted by North Texas.

The date of the event is planned for October 16, 2021 (two weeks after Going Caching).

Hall of Fame

The 2021 Hall of Fame inductees have been selected. Motion passes (all members present voted in favor).

The pathtags and HoF ammo cans will be purchased posthaste (along with the 1^st/2^nd/3^rd place ammo cans for Challenge).

HoF inductees will be inducted at Roundup if Challenge cancels.

Elections

Nominations open the second week of January and will close the second week of February.

Voting ends the Friday night of Challenge.

Website

A new TXGA website is currently under construction (to be announced at a later date after it is finished).

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00pm.

The Board will next meet February 2nd, 2021.
