TXGA Board Meeting 12/1/20

A meeting of the Executive Directors of the Texas Geocaching Association was held on December 1st, 2020, at 7pm by teleconference call.

MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm.

The minutes from the Executive Directors meeting dated October 6th, 2020, are approved.

Finances

Michael Cash presented the November financial statement:

TXGA’s opening balance was $5,221.73.

There was one debit for postage in the amount of $20.75.

TXGA’s closing balance was $5,200.98.

Challenge 2021

Events prior to Challenge will publish soon, pending confirmation of locations.

The 19th Annual Texas Challenge is GC8W9P1.

The event coin and pathtag designs are set finalized pending confirmation by the producer.

The board is waiting on the city of Cisco to confirm two locations for events prior to Challenge before those events can be published.

The board discussed possible additional requirements due to covid-19, along with the timeline for coin production in light of the pandemic.

Roundup 2021

Nothing to report.

The event is still in Mineral Wells, TX, hosted by North Texas (date TBD).

Membership Coin

The membership coin is in production, on track to be in TXGA possession 1/1/21.

150 trackable codes will be purchased through Geocaching Headquarters.

Michelle motioned to make shipping a part of the membership coin. Esther seconded. Motion passes 10-0.

Elections

Nominations open the second week of January and will close the second week of February.

Voting ends the Friday night of Challenge.

Hall of Fame

Board members will begin asking their local regions for possible TXGA Hall of Fame nominations.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:28pm.

The Board will next meet January 5th, 2021.
